What is Creative Week?
This is my third Creative Week, and similar to those in the past, I will be partnering with the wonderful Miki Sarroca (WingedInfinity). She will be serving as a make up artist, model, and she's done an incredible job of assisting me with organizing these shoots.
The Schedule:
Dark Queen: [Completed]
Poolside Glamour:
This is an experimental shoot, to study make up and glamour styling in a body of water.
Bridal:
Thrift shops have the best finds, and WingedInfinity found a lovely wedding dress we'll be using for a shoot.
Agency Shots: [Completed]
The first person I ever photographed, Isabelle, will be reuniting with me for Agency-ready photos. The top two are the first photos taken seven years ago, the bottom is the result of our shoot.
Make-Up & Styling Experiments: [Completed]
WingedInfinity will be building her MUAH portfolio with me for in-studio headshots with various styles of make up and hair.
Poison Ivy:
WingedInfinity has a gorgeous Poison Ivy cosplay, which I'd love to photograph during her visit.
Indian Sarees: [Completed]
I'm collaborating with a talented Miami designer of Indian Sarees, at the gorgeous Vizcaya Museum, with WingedInfinity.
Modern Horror Concept:
This is a shoot I hope to be able to do, to push the creepy factor. It's going to be in an editorial style.
Steampunk Fashion: [Completed]
This is the largest production shoot of the bunch. Along with Miki, I have the pleasure of working with the gorgeous MeganCoffey, the beautiful Ashley Fernandez, and an incredibly talented MUAH in Miami. Best of all, the wardrobe is by the gifted Karen von Oppen, a clothing designer who has been featured in publications like Vogue Italy. To bring some authenticity to the shoot, I'm renting a train station to use historic locomotives for some Steampunk power.

Let's Learn Portraiture: Natural LightingWelcome to the second installment of Let's Learn Portraiture! The previous installment was about Model Communication. For this installment, we will be tackling a topic for those photographers who enjoy taking portraits outdoors.:thumb330752024:
Portraiture with Natural Lighting
1.) Avoid Direct Sunlight
While it can really bring out the color of the eyes and make them pop, having your model stare into the sun should never be on the agenda. Not only is it exceedingly uncomfortable for your model, but it casts very harsh shadows. In most cases, you want to position your model with the sun behind them, or to the side. This will illuminate the hair and offer a nice glow. The issue then is that the subject's face may be too dark (underexposed). To solve this, you can bounce some light back into t
