Overall Vision
Originality Technique ImpactFor one, thank you for the informative blurb at the bottom of the photograph. It sort of helps me because sometimes you forget how special that little butterfly you see at the zoo, or even the park, really is. Anyways, moving onto the photograph. I do not believe the rule of thirds would help here since it would only make the image look very empty. This is one of the few times where off-center pulls off the look. The contrast of colors pulls my eyes straight to the butterfly and then descend to the ferns and finally pull back and I get a great look at the image as a whole. It is simple and greatly executed - it captures the subject without any other fuss. Originality is the only area it really suffers in because it is a common subject but hey, the spotlight is on the butterfly and that is what matters.
