The place where this was taken allows you to get within 3 feet of the animals, while being under close supervision of trainers and tour guides.

When I took this shot, I was about 4 feet away from the lion. Incredible experience!

Edit: Oh my goodness! I can't believe I got a Daily Deviation! I am absolutely floored right now! Best way to start my day, ever!

In all honesty, this is the picture perfect persona of what I image a DD to be! I simply cannot find anything wrong with this. It is in such a perfect position that it catches exactly what it needs to, and the lighting could not be more perfect. I wish I could judge on color, but I can't

The tone in this, however, is simply amazing. I almost thought it was an amazing painting at first! The listless gaze in his dark eyes only draw you closer to being his next meal, and you can almost feel his presence around you....

I hope that I am not alone in the way I feel. It's just an amazing photo and I honestly hope to see more out of you in the future.

This is simply amazing. The fact that you -we -are so close to this majestic creature is wonderful, unlike any photograph I`ve seen before. You can see every tuft of his mane, every hair on his chin, every strand of fur on his face. The photograph centers his face in just the right way, so it doesn`t look too posed, but you can still enough of his graceful beauty. You can tell which side the sun is on, and it casts wonderful shadows and highlights around the frame of the picture. His fur looks so warm and exciting, like a vat of caramel. His eyes are a perfect shade, and you can see them clearly, and you can understand his clam expression.

It is, over all, an amazing piece. Great job.
