The shortest, most disastrous shoot I've ever done. Lost a strobe and a fog machine in the making of this shot, and literally only had five minutes to photograph this look before a major downpour.
But, I regret nothing! Iliana was stunning, and I had a lot of fun photographing my first ever pin-up shoot. Follow Me On:Facebook l Website l Tumblr l Flickr l 500px
First off...I would like to say that I'm a sucker for vintage looking pin-ups. I love pin-ups especially from WWII. The model even looks like from the forties!
I like how the red outfit complements the green background (since green is opposite of red) and it really helps to make the subject "pop" and REALLY catch the viewer's eyes even more. Nice thing I noticed about her too is that she's wearing pretty much colors related to RED. Which is a nice touch, don't know if it was intentional but in art I always assume it's intentional. I love her outfit as well.
Overall this is a wonderful shot and I would love to hang this on my wall after my room is painted. What really got me is the simplicity of the shot. I always go for the simplicity. Not too much but there is enough to make an impact. That I like. Thank you for making such a wonderful picture with simple composition.
this is a wonderful shot, very alluring model, great color choices in the outfit, well complimented by the BG... brings to mind the great pinups of the 1940 (with the exception of the shoes... definitely a give-away to the photo's modern origins).
the makeup is definitely a throwback to the pinups of old... the single string of pearls adds a lot of class...
the focus is near perfect, catching the model, her "ground", and losing everything with just a few feet behind her... well done, there.
given your description of the weather, the overall lighting is a pleasant surprise...
I don't believe there a thing you could do to improve on this shot, without editing (a hint of blue in the sky might be nice, but why alter a good shot?)
